“River” is a 2022 Welsh D colt, bred by Romac Welsh Cobs in Queensland and later acquired from the esteemed Avaluen Welsh Cobs. He epitomizes the true Welsh Section D type, boasting substantial bone, a classic pony character, powerful hindquarters, and striking movement that captures attention.

River’s future at Ballanee is incredibly bright, with his exceptional bloodlines tracing back to some of the most notable imported Welsh stallions, including Gwynfaes Madoc (IMP), Gwynfaes Culhwch (IMP), Redwood Derw (IMP), and Hendrewen Aba Express (IMP). His sire, Rowen James Dean, is out of the beautiful imported mare Penstrumbly Blue Jean Baby (IMP).

As River matures, we eagerly anticipate producing and showcasing this promising young stallion, who is set to develop into a strong, confident, and impressive adult. River will stand at stud to outside mares in 2027, with services offered via AI only.

“Apollo” is a 2023 Welsh D colt who made the journey from Ferdinand Farm in Queensland to join us here at Ballanee. With his stunning presence and already expressive, uphill movement, we are thrilled about Apollo’s future.

Apollo is an impressive young colt, boasting a strong front, bold eye, and excellent bone. He displays outstanding manners, coupled with a lively and engaging personality. His remarkable pedigree features some of the most distinguished imported Welsh stallions, including Nebo Dyfrig Express (IMP), Llanina Merlyn (IMP), Llanina Jack Flash (IMP), and Derwen Serenllys (IMP). His sire, Cwmkaren Tywysog Du, is out of the exquisite imported mare Tyngwndwn Dancing Princess (IMP).

As our second stallion prospect, Apollo is growing into a kind, confident, and robust yearling, and we eagerly look forward to producing and presenting him as he continues to develop.
